Christian Based Ketamine Therapy Arizona

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

A Christ-Centered Path to Healing, Clarity, and Hope

At Christian Counseling Services of Arizona (CCS), we’re committed to walking alongside individuals who are seeking healing from depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges. Our Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) program offers a unique blend of neuroscience, trauma-informed therapy, and faith-based care to support deep emotional and spiritual transformation.

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has been safely used in medical settings since the 1950s. In recent years, it has emerged as a powerful treatment for depression, PTSD, and other mental health conditions, particularly in individuals who haven’t found relief through traditional methods.

In 2019, the FDA approved Spravato (esketamine) for treatment-resistant depression. At CCS, we work with licensed medical providers to offer a more affordable alternative: oral ketamine troches administered as part of a carefully guided therapeutic process.

How It Works

Ketamine increases a neurotransmitter in the brain called glutamate, which plays a vital role in learning, memory, and emotional regulation. By blocking certain receptors (NMDA), ketamine helps the brain form new, healthier connections, promoting healing and emotional flexibility.

Additional Benefits:

  • Reduces inflammation in the brain
  • Enhances neuroplasticity and cognitive flexibility
  • Interrupts negative thought loops by slowing the Default Mode Network (DMN)
  • Supports deeper insight during therapy

Our team of KAP-trained therapists blends clinical expertise with Christian faith, creating a safe and reflective space for transformation.

The Process:

Step 1: Schedule an Intake
Meet with one of our trained KAP therapists (in person or via telehealth). We’ll provide intake paperwork and determine if KAP is the right fit.

Step 2: Medical Referral
If eligible, we’ll refer you to a trusted medical provider to evaluate your readiness for ketamine treatment and prescribe the appropriate dosage.

  • A full ketamine prescription typically costs $60–$75.
  • The treatment protocol includes six sessions with gradually increasing doses:
    100 mg → 150 mg → 200 mg → 200 mg → 225 mg → 250 mg
  • Zofran may be prescribed to manage nausea if needed.

Step 3: Begin Your KAP Journey

Over three weeks, you’ll attend two 2.5–3 hour sessions per week in our comfortable therapy space.
Please note: you will not be able to drive after each session.

What to Expect in a Session

  • You’ll self-administer your medication and monitor your blood pressure.
  • Your therapist will help you set an intention and create a calming atmosphere, including prayer, ambient music, and essential oils if desired.
  • During the experience, you’ll recline with an eye mask, and may choose to speak or remain silent.
  • As the session winds down, your therapist will guide you through a gentle integration process, helping you reflect on what you experienced and documenting key insights to revisit later.

Expanded Options

We also offer specialized adaptations of the KAP process:

  • KAP-Enhanced EMDR & IFS
Low-dose (psycholytic) ketamine can enhance deeper trauma work while keeping clients fully engaged and able to drive afterward.
  • Group KAP Sessions
A cost-effective option with added community support.
  • KAP for Couples
Used at either psychedelic or psycholytic doses to support deeper emotional connection and relational healing.

Pricing & Accessibility

  • Six-session package: $3,000 – $3,600
  • Medical prescription: $60 – $75
  • Initial intake session: Priced separately
