Suicidal Ideation

It has been said that “suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem”

More than 700,000 people die by suicide every year.

For every suicide there are many more people who attempt suicide. A prior suicide attempt is the single most important risk factor for suicide in the general population.

Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-19 year olds.

We take suicidal ideation very seriously. Your  therapist will conduct a thorough assessment for suicidal ideation/attempts on your first visit and will continue to monitor it throughout your treatment. We will help you develop a safety plan and assist in helping you develop the needed resources in order to keep you safe. We will recommend  a medication assessment if needed and collaborate with your prescriber.

In addition, we will assess the reasons behind your suicidal feelings. Sometimes there is a sense of hopelessness/purposelessness. We will assist you in discovering the purpose for which you were created and clear out the things that stand in your way of realizing your God given destiny.
