Tony Reda, BA, CPC II, Crisis Intervention Specialist II, is a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Intern.
Tony was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He is a devoted husband of 28 years and a proud
father of two amazing sons now aged 25 and 23.
Tony has joined Christian Counseling Services while finishing his master’s level graduate studies at
Colorado Christian University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. He will graduate in
December this year.
In 2015, Tony sought further career aspirations and resigned from a 25-year tenure in corporate banking
to pursue his passion for the mental and behavioral health field. In 2016, Tony became a Certified Peer
Counselor and began working for a statewide non-profit family behavioral health agency. Tony was
promoted to a Level II CPC and completed his Level II Crisis and Intervention Specialist certification with
NAMA. In 2020, Tony graduated with honors while earning his bachelor's degree in clinical psychology
from Colorado Christian University.
Tony utilizes various theoretical frameworks to support his clients which includes Individuals, couples,
and groups. He believes that a humanistic stance promotes acceptance, unconditional positive regard,
and empathy for those struggling in life. Combined with a biopsychosocial assessment which informs the
therapeutic relationship and guides the work thus revealing the greatest opportunities for holistic
healing. His passion is rooted in family systems work, dialectical therapy, cognitive and behavior
therapies, and emotionally focused work. Tony has completed Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing (EMDR) basic-training and is focused upon addressing the root causes of trauma, painful or
fearful memories, anxiety, depression, and promoting long-term change. Tony operates from a Christian
worldview therefore encourages incorporating spirituality/religion into his practice but remains open to
other beliefs, diverse backgrounds, and honors all cultures meeting clients wherever they are at in their
respective journey.
Tony sees clients both in-person or virtual and will be working out of the Surprise office. He is under the
direct supervision of Elijah Steinbrecher, LMFT, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the
