Theresa Hay, M.S., LPC, NCC*  

Theresa is passionate about mental health, valuing an integrated approach that incorporates mental & physical health, spiritual well-being, and healthy relationships.  She embraces a trauma informed approach, has worked as a substance abuse counselor, does couples counseling, works with anxiety disorders, depression, body image issues, anger management, and domestic violence.  She takes a light-hearted approach when connecting with teens and children.

Hope is powerful. Theresa feels it is an honor to work with clients and help them move beyond their current struggles. She grew up in difficult circumstances with parents who suffered with mental illness, co-morbid medical issues, and chemical dependency. As a young college student she found hope in her Christian faith which helped her build her life on a solid foundation.

She wholeheartedly believes your past is not your future.

Theresa and her husband Craig met in college, and they have been married for 35 years.  They enjoy their 3 grown children and have 4 grandchildren (so far!).  She is passionate about fitness and enjoys running, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding, and traveling. Theresa has been a licensed as a Certified Personal Trainer since 2008 and loves to encourage others pursue a healthy lifestyle.

Theresa earned her Professional Counseling degree from Grand Canyon University. She is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor (NCC*). She has completed EMDR training, EMDR Recent Traumatic Events Protocol and Group Traumatic Events Protocol (R-TEP & G-TEP), is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialists (CCTS), is trained in couples counseling (Gottman Method & Integrative Sex Therapy), uses Sand Tray Therapy, and teaches DBT skills.  Theresa sees clients as young as 6 years old.
