Rebecca Sisneros - Intern

american association of counselors

Qualifications/Background/Experience

Rebecca Sisneros is a master’s level intern working on a Master’s of Arts in Counseling
at Phoenix Seminary, scheduled to graduate Spring of 2024. Rebecca chose Phoenix Seminary
and Christian Counseling Services (CCS) because of their integration of Christian beliefs, first
and foremost, combined with psychology. Phoenix Seminary and CCS hold true to the Biblical
understanding that men and women are all created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Rebecca
is most drawn to support and equip those who have experienced relational and sexual
disintegration due to abuse, find restoration – as they learn over time to embrace a personal sense
of value and wholeness.

In a safe and confidential environment, Rebecca offers a secure therapeutic alliance to
face past trauma that keeps the client stuck in depression, anxiety, and the effects of abuse. Using
a blend of approaches, including Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic therapy, EMDR
therapy, and listening prayer, she supports clients in resolving relational, emotional, and spiritual
problems on the journey to wholeness.

Rebecca has her undergraduate degree from ASU in bilingual education and a Master’s in
Early Education from NAU. She taught in the public school system for sixteen years, serving
low-income minority populations. She held leadership positions that required one on one support
and guidance. She also provided workshops for Spanish-speaking families. From the time
Rebecca was very young, her grandmother taught her the value and importance of a strong work
ethic and how to care for others.

While she became a Christian as a teenager, Rebecca’s relationship with the Lord
deepened considerably in her early thirties while searching for healing from her own past
traumas. She places her faith and trust in the One who is well “acquainted with grief” (Isaiah
53:3) and offers to meet you in your journey to wholeness. She has learned what can be
accomplished through faith and hope in Jesus.

Rebecca is working under the direct supervision of Theresa Hay, LPC who is an
approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Behavioral Health Examiners.
She will work out of the Glendale and Goodyear offices Monday – Wednesday. Rebecca
can be contacted at 602-466-8860 or RebeccaS@ChristiancounselingServicesAZ.com.
