Qualifications/Background/Experience
Rachel is a master’s level intern working toward a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Grand Canyon University, scheduled to graduate in the fall of 2025. Rachel is a lifelong student of humanity. She began formal psychology studies in college and graduated with her B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University in 1998. She began seriously pursuing her relationship with God in college at 19 years of age, which
included serving on staƯ and in various volunteer leadership roles for teen, college campus, and young professional adult ministries. More recently, she has completed foundational studies in biblical counseling through the Biblical Counseling Center. She has also served in leadership roles in adult divorce recovery and marriage ministry at her local church. Rachel has experienced and firmly believes in the gospel truth found in Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” and is excited to partner with people on their journey to discover true healing and freedom for themselves.
Rachel moved from Chicago to Arizona in 1993 to attend ASU. She worked in mortgage lending for over 20 years, and enjoys hiking, golf, Christian yoga, and restaurants with her family and friends. She also enjoys serving with her husband and two children, building community and homes, on mission trips to Mexico. Rachel is passionate about continuing to learn and practice a holistic approach to transformational growth in spirit, soul, and body.
Rachel is training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other trauma-informed modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS). She is working under the direct supervision of Candace Cook, MS, LPC, an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
