Rachel Anderson is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) who provides compassionate, faith-integrated counseling for individuals and couples seeking healing, growth, and restored connection. She specializes in concerns related to sexual integrity, codependency, anxiety, depression, divorce recovery, and relational challenges, helping clients move from cycles of pain and confusion toward clarity, freedom, and hope.
Rachel earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University (fall 2025) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University, where she began her formal training in psychology. With both academic preparation and extensive life experience, Rachel brings a grounded, thoughtful approach to therapy that honors each client’s story.
Central to Rachel’s work is her belief that lasting change occurs when the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—is addressed. She integrates evidence-based clinical practices with a Christian worldview for clients who desire faith-informed counseling. Rachel has completed foundational training in biblical counseling through the Biblical Counseling Center and has served in leadership roles within marriage ministry and divorce recovery programs, giving her deep insight into relational pain and restoration.
Rachel is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilizes other trauma-informed modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS). She is particularly skilled at helping clients understand entrenched patterns, heal unresolved wounds, and develop healthier emotional and relational responses. Her work is informed by the gospel truth of Galatians 5:1: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Rachel considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they pursue genuine healing and freedom.
Prior to entering the counseling profession, Rachel spent over 20 years in mortgage lending, bringing a strong work ethic, professionalism, and real-world perspective into the therapy room. Originally from Chicago, she moved to Arizona in 1993 and now enjoys hiking, golf, Christian yoga, and exploring local restaurants with family and friends. Rachel and her husband, along with their two children, also serve on mission trips to Mexico, where they help build homes and strengthen the community.
Rachel practices under the direct supervision of Candace Cook, MS, LPC, an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
