Emilie Christman, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Emilie began her career in social work when she started working in group homes caring for individuals with disabilities right out of high school. This led her to seek out formal social work education. Emilie received her Bachelor’s of Social Work from Northern Arizona University in 2003, and her Master’s of Social Work from Arizona State University in 2010, and Social Work Licensure in 2020.
Through her career, Emilie has worked in many different capacities and with diverse populations including the disabled, the elderly, Native American children and families, within the Child Welfare System, in the hospital setting, as a Community Medical Case Manager, and finally as a mental health therapist, which she feels is her greatest calling.
Emilie works with adolescents and adults. She specializes in the treatment of trauma but also helps people experience relief from anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, relationship struggles, shame, and inner criticism. Emilie is EMDR trained and also offers Christian Counseling to those who request it.
Emilie’s practice and her philosophical approach to therapy is based on Social Work Principles and the belief every human being has inherent worth, dignity, and value; and in self determination, which honors each individual’s right to choose one’s own path, state of consciousness, purpose, and destiny, and that each individual knows best what is needed for their own healing. Therapy is a collaborative, joint venture where knowledge and skills are combined to create meaningful solutions and positive
outcomes.
Because everyone is unique, Emilie uses a variety of therapeutic modalities to provide support, help facilitate healing and change, so that each individual can function at their best to achieve balance and joy in their daily life, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a passion, an honor, and a privilege for Emilie to be able to serve and support you on your unique life journey.
When she is not counseling others, Emilie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, caring for plants, singing, pursuing health and fitness goals, and cultivating her spiritual faith.
