Emilie Christman, LCSW

Qualifications/Background/Experience

Emilie Christman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a heart for helping individuals find healing, hope, and wholeness through Christ-centered counseling. Her journey into social work began shortly after high school when she started working in group homes serving individuals with disabilities. This early experience sparked a deep passion for helping others and led her to pursue formal training in social work.

Emilie earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Northern Arizona University in 2003 and her Master of Social Work from Arizona State University in 2010. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2020. Over the course of her career, Emilie has served in a wide variety of settings, including work with individuals with disabilities, the elderly, Native American families and children, the Child Welfare System, hospitals, and community-based medical case management. Each role has shaped her compassionate and holistic approach, but Emilie has found her greatest calling in the work she does as a mental health therapist.

Today, Emilie provides therapy to adolescents and adults, walking alongside clients as they navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, relationship challenges, shame, and self-criticism. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and specializes in trauma recovery. Her therapeutic work is grounded in the truth and grace of the Gospel, and it is her great joy to integrate Christian faith into the healing process for those who desire a biblical worldview in counseling.

Emilie’s approach is collaborative, client-centered, and deeply rooted in the belief that true healing involves the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. She draws from various evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her work focuses on healing the root causes of distress rather than just managing symptoms, with the goal of helping each client experience lasting transformation and renewed joy in life.

In addition to her clinical work, Emilie is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. She offers supervision for Licensed Associate Counselors, Social Workers, and Therapists working toward independent licensure, as well as support and mentorship for practicum students and interns.

Outside of the counseling room, Emilie finds joy in spending time with her husband and their three children, caring for her plants, singing worship music, pursuing fitness and health, and nurturing her personal walk with Christ.

It is Emilie’s passion, honor, and privilege to serve individuals on their unique journey toward healing, restoration, and purpose—empowered by faith and guided by grace.
