Chris Willis is a Licensed Associate Counselor affiliated with Christian Counseling Services. She works with adult individuals and couples, offering a warm, relational, and faith-integrated approach to counseling.
Chris is trained in EMDR therapy and specializes in trauma-informed care, helping clients process past experiences that continue to impact their present relationships, emotions, and sense of self. She integrates approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and family systems work to help clients better understand their internal experiences and relational patterns, while creating space for meaningful healing and change. She also incorporates elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) when helpful, offering practical tools to support emotional regulation and growth.
Her approach is holistic and collaborative, honoring the connection between emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. Chris believes therapy should feel like a partnership — a safe and supportive space where clients can be honest, explore their stories, and move toward growth and healing at a pace that feels right for them.
Chris enjoys working with adults who are seeking greater self-awareness, healing, and emotional stability, especially those navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She has a passion for supporting healthy marriages and offers both couples counseling and premarital counseling for those who want to build a strong, healthy foundation as they prepare for marriage.
Chris has been married for 31 years and values the importance of long-term commitment and growth within relationships. She and her husband have four adult children, two of whom are married, and she cherishes her role as “Gigi” to her first granddaughter. Originally from San Diego, California, Chris has lived in several states and in Australia due to her husband’s career as a naval officer. These experiences have shaped her appreciation for resilience, transition, and the many seasons of life.
Chris sees clients in the South Scottsdale, Biltmore, and Midtown areas and offers both in-person and online sessions.
