Carla earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelor of Science in Personal Development and Advanced Patient Care, both from Grand Canyon University. She also holds a Licensed Practical Nursing certification from the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center.
She has experience working with healthcare professionals, veterans, youth, women, and children, and has served in various ministry roles within her church. Currently, she’s active in her congregation’s intercessory prayer and First Responder ministries in Glendale.
While serving with a homeless ministry on a local reservation, Carla learned to deeply value each person’s story. That experience sparked her passion for helping people heal from trauma and inspired her to pursue a counseling degree and training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Carla loves reading, volunteering in community outreach, and cheering on her children at their sports events. She also enjoys planning family adventures and spending time outdoors. Her faith is at the heart of everything she does, and her goal is to glorify God through her work and life.
Carla is supervised by Joel Thompson, MSW, LCSW, an approved clinical supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE).
She meets with clients both in person and online. Carla is available in the Goodyear office on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and in the Surprise office on Tuesday.
