Ben is a Licensed Associate Counselor. Areas of focus include helping men to create stability in their lives and in their families, helping children and adolescents with behavioral difficulties, marital counseling, and helping people to overcome the cycle of depression, anxiety, and anger. Ben is a trauma informed therapist. He is committed to addressing root causes, rather than just outward symptoms. He wants to help people find lasting change and stability in their lives. Ben is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is the gold standard in the industry for for treating trauma related challenges.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Ben spent twenty-years teaching at the K-12 and college levels. He has a degree in mental health counseling from GCU, an M.A. in Religious Studies from ASU, and a B.A. in History and Philosophy from ASU. He has been married for 20 years and he has 2 kids and lots of animals. He loves reading and listening to books, spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, and learning new things.
Ben works with individuals ages 5 and older. He has gentle nature and good sense of humor when he connects with children and adolescents. Ben is able to work with families with children who need counseling support. He can even help parents work through parenting issues.
Ben is working under the supervision of Theresa Hay, MS, LPC, NCC who is an approved clinical supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. He is in the Glendale office on Wednesday through Friday and is available for telehealth most other days.
