Asa is a master’s level intern working on a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University. Asa graduated with a bachelor’s in Worship Arts with a minor in Counseling in 2020. Since graduating, he has worked for a community Behavioral Health facility for three years; beginning with providing services to families, teens, and kids then recruiting workers on the mission of supporting families in behavioral health services. Asa currently works with college students at Grand Canyon University both academically and collaborating on their career journey.
Asa assists in providing treatment for a variety of needs such as depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, and other factors. Asa also helps people through porn addiction, establishing new habits and understandings on chronic porn usage and assisting people in transitional phases of life.
Asa is an on-going follower of Christ, understanding that our body and mind have ailments that can be healed through therapy as well as through the Lord’s grace and teachings. Asa has volunteered on worship teams for over a decade, currently assisting his church with scheduling and leading Sunday worship services. He enjoys connecting with people through various interests such as art, music, movies, sports, and hearing of people’s unique hobbies.
Asa is in the process of completing his training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is under the direct supervision of Joel Thompson, LMSW, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
