Abbey Guy - Intern

american association of counselors

Qualifications/Background/Experience

Abbey is a master’s Level intern working on a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, scheduled to graduate fall of 2024. She graduated with a Bachelor of Religion from Liberty University in 2022. Abbey chose Liberty and Christian Counseling Services because of the importance of integration of faith and psychology.

For 4.5 years she has had the privilege to serve as a youth leader. Abbey wants to help people heal from the lies of worthlessness, insignificance and connect with the truths such as “ you are worthy and have value and a purpose in this life”. Since she believes in the goodness of God, she knows that He is going to move mountains and there will always be hope in the lowest of valleys even when someone is going through their most difficult time through their life. She would love to weave biblical principles with psychological interventions within the counseling practice.

Abbey moved from Pittsburgh, PA in 2022 with her husband of two years but is happy to call Arizona their home now. She enjoys hiking and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes. Abbey is currently involved with a non -profit organization, I am second and helps women internationally with their faith.

She is currently working under the direct supervision of Candace Cook, MS, LPC and an approved Clinical Supervisor through Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Abbey is in training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Abbey will be accepting clients at our Mesa location at Greenfield on Thursdays, and Fridays as well on Saturdays at the Gilbert location. To schedule an appointment with Abbey, please text or call her at, 480-331-2059. You can also visit her website abbeycounseling.squarespace.com.
