Joia is a master’s level intern working toward a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University, with plans to complete her program in 2025.
Joia is dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their journey toward healing and personal growth. With a strong foundation in her faith and a personal relationship with God, Joia approaches counseling through a Christian perspective, offering hope and encouragement rooted in biblical principles. She believes in the power of faith to bring transformation and works to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their challenges and discover the tools they need to thrive.
With a strong dedication to therapeutic practices and a compassionate approach, she is committed to helping clients navigate personal trials, develop coping strategies, and foster emotional well-being. Joia values creating a safe and empathetic environment where clients feel heard and understood.
Joia is in the process of completing his training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is under the direct supervision of Joel Thompson, LCSW, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
