Teresa is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) at Christian Counseling Services. With a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health and membership in the International Honor Society, Teresa is highly qualified in her field. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University, where she double minored in substance abuse and addiction and Social Science. When not at work, Teresa enjoys spending time with her family and participating in church activities, which bring her peace and comfort. She has been happily married to her wonderful husband for 30 years, and together, they have three grown children and two daughters-in-law, which are a true blessing to their family.
Teresa has been a military spouse for over 10 years. Her eldest son is a military veteran, while her other son is currently serving on active duty. Additionally, she owned her own business for over 10 years.
Teresa has experienced trauma and brokenness within her family, and she has turned these experiences into a passion for helping others who are going through similar situations. She particularly enjoys working with younger individuals, from very young children to young adults. Teresa understands that everyone is unique, and this understanding has helped her develop a broad range of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and more. Teresa has completed her training in EMDR, which is known as eye movement and reprocessing. She is currently working towards her certification in EMDR.
Teresa is currently under the direct supervision of Donald Durham, Ph.D., an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
