Tami is a master’s level intern working on a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University (GCU) and is scheduled to graduate in the summer of 2025. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2019. Tami chose GCU and Christian Counseling Services because of the importance of the integration of faith and psychology when helping others.
Tami is an active servant leader in her Church and local community and wants to be a beacon of light to bring hope and healing to help people dealing with self-worth and self-identity, to help them live a more fulfilled life. She believes in the Godly principle found in Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” This scripture is the cornerstone of her faith-based psychological interventions within the counseling practice.
Tami was raised primarily in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and Arizona and considers herself a Southern girl with a Southwestern twist. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children and it a avid gardener and animal lover. Tami is currently involved with her Church worship team and a women’s weekly bible study.
She is currently working under the direct supervision of Elijah Steinbrecher, MS, LMFT, an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Tami has previous experience working with youth of all ages and their families and is currently training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Tami will be accepting clients at our Mesa location on Fridays and Saturdays and is available for both virtual and in-person sessions. To schedule an appointment with Tami, please contact her at 480-258-9653 or Tami@christiancounselingservicesaz.com. She looks forward to meeting you.
