Qualifications, Background & Experience

Kelley Jordan McMahon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, with a minor in Psychology, from Washburn University in 1997, followed by her Master’s in Social work in 1998. She then served for 11 years in the field of child welfare. Throughout her tenure there, Kelley worked extensively with children and families in crisis.  She provided individual, group, and family therapy to a wide array of clients, with a focus on trauma treatment. She also supervised numerous clinical staff and is an approved clinical supervisor by AZ BBHE.

Since that time, Kelley began work as a stay-home mom, launched a successful health and wellness business, and completed a 12-month program in holistic health coaching through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. As a former 2-sport collegiate athlete, Kelley is an avid Crossfit enthusiast.  She has worked with numerous athletes in various capacities over the years (coach, mentor, counselor), including her own two high-level athletes.

Kelley has a strong Christian faith that readily conveys grace, hope for change, and a safe, caring space for healing. You may choose what level of spirituality you would like to incorporate into your session. All will feel welcomed and comfortable.

Kelley is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a primary modality. She is also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Ms. McMahon sees individuals with a variety of presenting issues—depression, anxiety, life stressors, childhood or recent trauma, relationship issues, feeling “stuck”, grief, etc. Ms. McMahon also specializes in working with individual athletes and sports teams on issues related to performance anxiety, blocking beliefs, successfully managing failure and self-talk, goal-setting, optimizing the power of the mind/body connection, and pathways to success.
