Qualifications, Background & Experience

Karen Loscavio is a Licensed Associate Counselor at Christian Counseling Services. She earned her Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and is currently enrolled as a doctoral student at Northern Arizona University where she is earning her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University.

Karen has experience working with families of children with developmental delays or disorders as well as clients with a history of trauma and abuse. She believes that our challenges are our greatest coaches. Karen is passionate in joining her clients on their journey to achieve healing and personal growth, offering support in building resilience and developing renewed trust. Having overcome her own hardships of emotional neglect, significant loss, abuse, and trauma, Karen continually seeks to press on toward what lies ahead and desires to help her clients find the truth and freedom they need to press on in their lives as well. 

Karen approaches life from a Christian worldview and offers Biblically-based counseling for those who desire to integrate their faith into their healing journey. She works with children, teens, adolescents, and adults. Leaning into the hard experiences of life can be scary. Karen offers safety, empathy, and compassion, helping her clients develop the courage they need to let go of fear and pursue hope. 

Karen is trained in EMDR. She works under the direct supervision of Dr. Don Durham, PhD. who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. She works out of the South Scottsdale office.
